Bedroom Stories
Created by Fergus Rougier + collaborators
Bedroom Stories is a trilogy of three dramatic pieces. The pieces - described as: An office worker moonlights as a sleepwalking poet, a jealous lover struggles with the exes, a cow escapes from the slaughterhouse, are set within a bedroom.

What might you expect to experience? The Pieces are a mixture of realistic acting with dream sequences and thoughts made visible. This latter, more abstract side of storytelling is embodied through stylised movement that draws its inspiration from contemporary dance, mime and clowning. This 'theatre that dances' plays off against a contemporary soundtrack that has been specifically composed.

"A very inventive piece of storytelling. He moves with the grace and precision of a dancer. But he's got the mischievous spirit of a comedian and satirist". The Star Phoenix

"There's something compelling about a performance that's just so danged different". Orlando Sentinel

"I was fascinated by his gangling, contorted physicality; he embodies a unique movement quality somewhere between pantomime and modern dance" Orlando Weekly

I was expecting more- story didnt connect together- interludes dream sequence didnt hold my attention and were not well choreographed and repetitive. Not worth the $25

 5 Stars!
Well-crafted. Interesting use of mime & music to embody emotional states.

DenverDave  2 Stars!
seemingly unrelated stories about growing up and failed love pursuits, interspersed with athletic dance/movement pieces and songs on the accordian, make for a disjoint performance wtih little thematic continuity. I found my interest waning about halfway through.

Jenny  5 Stars!
