14 years of celebrating Arist-centered Independent Creativity!

2018 Boulder Fringe Festival is Back with a vengeance!

Boulder, CO, August 15 - 26, 2018: A 12-day performing arts festival that brings hundreds of artists from
across the country, some from overseas and attracts thousands of audience members into multiple venues
for over 150 events every August. Dance, Music, Cinema, Theater, Spoken Word, Cultural Events and
Workshops – audiences easily move from venue to venue to see what Boulder’s creative talent has to
offer in collaboration with traveling artists from all over the world. What’s NEW in 2018, you ask?

The Boulder Fringe founders are back on the team, in staff and on the board of directors, to celebrate art,
madness and beauty all under one roof! David Ortolano, freshly back from touring a solo show in 2017
across North America, is live at the helm again as the festival’s Executive Director in 2018. Lisa
McClellan, producer from 2017, is supporting program and ticket administration while Alana Eve
Burman, former festival Event Director and Designer, has joined the Board of Directors to help see the
festival through to the next level of Boulder Fringe’s wild leap into the future.

The Pine Street Church and Boulder Fringe Festival have teamed up in 2018 to build a MEGA-venue that
places a majority of the Fringe’s shows and activities in one building in Downtown Boulder. The Pine
Street Church, Sanctuary and related spaces host the Fringe’s premiere unbridled creativity. The 2018
Boulder Fringe Festival will welcome 22 performing companies, about 70% local and 30% traveling. Each
company will present multiple shows along side the Fringe’s 21 community events and workshops,
including late-night talk shows, comedy, and cultural events. Fringe Outreach events feature diverse
corners of the community (aka, the Boulder “fringe”) with kids and older adults, various ethnicities, and
other marginalized groups in the community. Every year the Fringe Festival kick’s off the beginning of
the academic year and Boulder’s summer into fall season with a array of events all in Downtown

About Boulder Fringe

The Boulder International Fringe Festival is a proud member of the USAFF (United States Association of Fringe Festivals), CAFF
(Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals) and the World Fringe, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Boulder Fringe produces the
largest performing arts festival in the State of Colorado and is part of a growing worldwide movement of Fringe festivals that
promote independent, self-produced and artist-centered works of performance and art that connect with audiences directly and
without censorship. The Fringe Festival provides venues, staff and programs to create a collective platform for artists of all
disciplines and fosters creativity in the community including special events, workshops and forums that spark community
dialogues. The Boulder Fringe is committed to investigating, determining and redefining the "fringe" in all of its programming, in
honor of the wild creative spirit of the Fringe's original intent in 1947. The freedom of artistic expression belongs to everyone, not
just the fittest or wealthiest. We, the fringe, must continually work to live up to honor the creative spirit in all individuals.
