Presented by Reel Kids
Reel Kids announces the world premiere of Muse of Fire, a new musical written by Kelly McAllister with music composed by Kari Kraakevik and Joshua Rich. Performances are:
-August 14th at 7pm
-August 15th at 2pm and 7pm
-August 16th at 2pm
The show is based on the play of the same name which had its premiere at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. The musical is a comedic drama about what it means to be an artist.
The plot follows two novice muses, Dion and Polly, on their first assignment: helping a young woman become a great writer at great personal expense. The show asks the question, what is the point of theater in a world gone mad? Does art help make the world a better place? The answer is a resounding, poignant yes. It is a love letter to the human spirit and a celebration of the arts. Alternatively farcical, mystical, and always wildly entertaining, the show is the shot in the arm we all need while we wait for a vaccine.
