Artist Relevant Box Office Policies and Procedures

For general box office policies, please see our general box office policies page. Below are just a few Artist-related box office policies we’d like to point out:

General Information

·     General admission seating for all performances
·     All Fringe shows start on time; set watch to local Mountain time.
·     Latecomers will not be admitted into any performance
·     Once the performance has started no one (even patrons with tickets) will be admitted.
·     All ticket sales are final: no refunds and no exchanges.
·     All advance ticket sales have a $3.00 service charge added to them, whether purchased online or at the Main Box Office. No service charged is incurred at any of the venues for day-of-show, at-the-door sales.

Merchandise Sales

·     Fringe T-Shirts, Tote Bags and Buttons are the only merchandise sold at events.
·     Festival artists may sell other merchandise at the Venue Box Office Area as long as:
- Activity must not interfere with Fringe Box Office personnel or functioning
- Artists are fully responsible for the sale and monitoring of their merchandise.

Non-Festival artists (those not directly involved in the Festival):
·     Are welcome to promote their events and pass out materials.
·     Need to purchase festival space if they’d like to set up a table or booth and can do so by contacting: info@boulderfringe.com

Artist Pay Out

·     Artist will receive 100% of box office ticket sales, not including the additional fees incurred by the Main Box Office for Advanced Ticket Sales.
·     Time Line: – Artists will receive their monies in two main ways -
Cash Recieved at Door: will be payed out immediately after each performance. Artists will check in with their Venue Site Manager right after they have cleared out of the theater. They will be asked to sign an event summary and will be given all the cash that was collected at the door.
Advanced Sale Income (Credit Cards and Checks): will be mailed on or before September 30th, 2011 and will comprise the monies collected from Advance Ticket Sales, credit card transactions and personal checks.

Artist Passes

In order for a group to receive any of it’s artist passes, every single member of the group must have signed a Participant Release form. So, it’s best for you, as the company’s primary contact to make sure that every company member has completed the online Participant Release form, PRIOR to checking in. Each Fringe artist group will be given between 1-4 Artist Passes, depending on the size of the group, all of which list each member of the group. These will allow free entry into other Fringe shows, based on unsold seat availability. These passes are to be shared among members of each artist group. Every Fringe artist agrees to accept these passes at their shows. To get into a show with an Artist Pass, each person will be required to show ID that matches a name listed on the Artist Pass.

NOTE: Offering these passes is a courtesy the Fringe extends in order to encourage Fringe artists to see each other’s work and to have the fullest Fringe experience possible. This is a great perk for all of the artists in the festival. If you or a member of your group is found to be abusing the Artist Pass privilege, your group’s passes may be revoked. Lost passes may be replaced for a fee of $35 each.

Comp Policy

Since 100% of the box office goes to the you, the artist, comps for your own shows may be given at your discretion. However, all comps must be given to the Venue Site Manager to go on the comp list at least 30 minutes before curtain.

It is recommended to use your comps early in the festival as it encourages people to talk up your later shows. Also, other Fringe Artists will have free passes to all of the shows (including yours), based on unsold seat availability (see Artist Pass policy above).
