Fringe LInks

Dear Boulder International Fringe,
"We're FRIN-gin in the rain, just FRIN-gin in the rain!!"

What a marvelous feeeling, lalalalala.

So it may be wet and chilly, but we're all here,

rain or shine right?
After all, we're tough; mountain tough -  grrrrrrrr.
Heck, the more blustery - the more performance-art-y, no?

Speaking of rain, Gene Kelly would have made a darned good Fringer.

Melissa McNamara in Leaving Normal at The Trident

Granted, all that heel-clicking & singing to ones umbrella may not resonate as "fringy", but I think with a quick review of his character intention (so why is he singin' in the rain?),  a bit of inner dialogue  (maybe a name for his umbrella, which, let's say, symbolizes his burdgeoning adulthood), a slight variation in wardrobe - and voila! - he'd have himself a Fringe act!!

Jen Kearney & The Lost Onion play B-Side Lounge

By the way, your Mom called, she said you have to finish your workshops before you can play in the puddles.  And you're in luck, because tomorrow there are 3 terrific workshops which would make your Mommy proud:  Jimmy Hogg teaches Going Solo: How to Create Your Own One-Person Show, Ira Liss teaches kids Song and Story Improv, and Katsura Kan teaches Butoh theatre traditions (this wkshp runs now through Fri, Aug 22).

And let's not forget about tomorrow night's "So You're a Fringe Poet"at The Laughing Goat.  It's the Fringe Edition of the open poetry reading that takes place every Monday night at the Laughing Goat (called "So You're a Poet").  The cost is $3.  Woohoo, Haiku! Gesundheit.

Remember - there's C.R.A.B tonight & every night at 10pm with Eddy the Eskimo.  Funny guy, that Eddy.  He ribs for your pleasure.

After C.R.A.B each night, march with your fellow Fringers  just a few blocks to Scotch Corner Pub (on the corner of Broadway and Walnut) for late night revelries (so revelrous, I can't write about it).

Fringe Forecast for tomorrow:  sprinkly, with moments of abstract dampness.  Expect thunderous applause throughout the day.

Eddy wants to know...

What are the 4 underlying principles behind a FRINGE FESTIVAL?

Bring your answer to tonight's Daily C.R.A.B. with Eddy the Eskimo at Fringe Central - A.K.A. the Laughing Goat Coffee House at 10:00 PM (it's free!) (it's fun!) (it's absurd!) (you haven't really been to Boulder Fringe until you've been to C.R.A.B!)

P.S. Tonight's C.R.A.B. will also feature interviews with:
Ruling Thumb Theatre
Zany Angels Dance Theatre Company
