Fringe LInks

Dear Fringe Enthusiast,

Welcome to this Special Collector's Edition of News on the Fringe.

This special edition is in
honor of the
epic combo
of The Olympic Games and The Boulder Fringe sharing the
world's stage at the same time.

(tip: this is valuable stuff: store it on an acid-free website in a cool, dry place).

                                                Shana Cordon & Jim Walker,
                                                                A Brief History of Intercourse

In honor of this momentousishness, and with special permission, we've pulled the following list from a sealed vault to share with you.

Behold! Boulder International Fringe Festival's Top 10 suggestions for new or improved events in the Summer Olympics:

   1.   "Opening Ceremonies" - suggested a new, unique
venue - like the ladies room.

   2.   "Freestyle" - The only uncensored, unjuried
          competition in the Olympics
   3.   "Sing Pong" - the Asian art of volleying improv
           poetry
back & forth across a table
   4.  "Floor Exercise" - most creative use of a chair prop
   5.  "Slimnastics" - competing to fit oneself into the
          smallest piece of luggage
   6.  "Parallel Bars" - a competition of drunk banter
taking place in 2 pubs next door to one another
   7.  "Shotput" - putting back Goldschlager after winning
          the parallel bars
   8.   "The 5 block dash" - sprinting from show to show
in plenty of time for the next one to begin
   9.   "Technical Program" - lighting directors compete for
best light show set to the music of Michael Bolton
10.     Replacing Bob Costas with Eddy the Eskimo as the
official Olympics announcer. Renaming his show
            G.R.A.B (Globally Risking Absurdity, Baby).

**The BIFF committee is looking to begin drafting and training for these events immediately; see someone somewhere for more details.
