Dear Fringe Enthusiast,
|
We meet again. Clearly we share the same taste in quality entertainment.
It's Day 9 of Fringe and the festival is really heating up, so try
not to leave your ticket-buying until the last minute. Now
that the word is out around town, it's
worth buying your tickets in advance (online
or at the Fringe Box Office at the Dairy).

It's not too late to volunteer for a shift or two, in fact you might be sainted if you do. And if you sign up for a volunteer shift for later this weekend, you'll be advanced your ticket credits so you can catch the shows while they're still running. In the true spirit of fringe, the best way to keep it rolling is to pass it on, so please forward our information on to any friends, colleagues, or family who might also be interested in some fun volunteer work with genuine fringe benefits.

Don't miss the extraordinary opportunity this Saturday and Sunday to participate in a special Plasticenics workshop with Dexter Bullard. Dexter has been directing & teaching improv at The Second City for years, is co-founder of the Plasticene company, as well as the head of Graduate Acting at DePaul University. Needless to say, he's been around the proverbial block and knows all the best places to eat. Here's what the Chicago Sun Times had to say about Dexter's technique: "Plasticene creates strange, dizzying, high-impact, psychologically-driven scenarios by means of the movement of bodies and objects rather than dialogue. It's the no-talk, all-action alternative. And the action often speaks far louder than any words." Say no more.

Speaking of words, it can be difficult to find the right ones to effectively describe a fringe performance. Below are some helpful new terms, which, although not officially accepted by Webster, are certainly deserving of consideration:
frintoxicating, frincoherent, frindearing, frincognito, frindignant,
frintuitive, frindulgent, fringenuous, frinfantile, frinsane, frincandescent,
frintolerant, frinquisitive, frincommunicado, frindescribable, frindelicate,
& frintense.
