 Dear Boulder International Fringe,

Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.  ~Twyla Tharp

Truer words. . .

for 10 days the lot
of us have strolled
through the festival,  an imaginary runaway stick resting on our collective shoulder, dreams tucked into
the bandana
tied to its end. Bumping into one another and liking it.  It's maybe what draws us together in the end;                                              Andy McQuade performing
                                                                                         The Hideous Face of  Love

the Huck Finn-like child/artist/adventurer in all of us.  And the existence of Fringe memorializes it; freezes it all in time like another chapter in
Mr. Twain's extraordinary adventures.

And we have 2 more days to get it right.
(so many shows & caverns to get lost in).

  Kelsie Huff performs HUFFS

So, without further ado, let's put some of what we need into our bandanas - just enough & maybe a little bit to share - and let's pound the performance pavement.  Get out to those shows you've been dying to see, and maybe take a chance on one you know nothing about
(make Huck proud).

While you're at it and memorialized - so time has no real bearing - find yourself at one of the 2 final workshops of the Boulder Fringe Festival:

Experience Ruth Zaporah's movement & body workshop; "A Splendid Moment".  Learn to share from embodied and imaginative resources while experiencing a fresh view of self (runs through Sun  at Dairy Perf Space).  Elizabeth Baron is offering "Sublime Stupidity", a workshop designed to turn what is "uniquely and inherently stupid" about each of us into gateways into a profound and funny performance (runs through Sunday at Naropa Lincoln Studio).

Join us for The Best of C.R.A.B. tonight at The Laughing Goat, where Eddy the Eskimo & Edith Pilaf

way around hilarious. They'll also be announcing the winners of Fringe Encore! 2008 at C.R.A.B. tonight too; so don't miss it! To celebrate the results, join the crew for late night revelries at Scotch Corner (on the corner of Broadway and Walnut).  Come, drink scotch, make new-old friends.

Don't forget to pick up tickets to FRINGE ENCORE!, taking place on Sunday evening, when the best-selling artist from each venue gives a final performance.  Results given on Saturday night at C.R.A.B. and Sunday morning in this newsletter.

Eddy wants to know...
FRINGE TRIVIA QUESTION:

Which Boulder International Fringe Festival Staff Member has a middle name that is a palindrome?

palˇinˇdrome

noun: a word, line, verse, number, sentence, etc., reading the same backward as forward

Bring your answer to tonight's Daily C.R.A.B. with Eddy the Eskimo at Fringe Central - A.K.A. the Laughing Goat Coffee House at 10:00 PM (it's free!) (it's fun!) (it's absurd!) (you haven't really been to Boulder Fringe until you've been to C.R.A.B!)

P.S. Tonight's BEST OF C.R.A.B. will also feature interviews with:
Kelsie Huff from "HUFFS"
Lee Michael Buckman from "BAGS: Obsessions of a Hoardaholic"
Ben Stuber and Taavo Smith from "The Three Sisters"
Melissa McNamara from "Leaving Normal"
