Dear Fringe Enthusiast,

Top 10 reasons why the Fringe Festival is such a good fit for Boulder:

#10 -   suspension of disbelief is a requirement of residency

#9   -  when you wear your costume out to dinner, you're likely to encounter 2 other people in the same outfit

#8   -  no animals are hurt or inconvenienced in the daily C.R.A.B catch

#7   -  in 16 square miles surrounded by reality, there are at least 3 support groups that believe in fairies

#6   -  the altitude makes everything seem more entertaining

#5   -  Boulder is the first community to declare its theatrics cage-free (although at least 1 fringe applicant has requested an exception)

#4   -  "The Onion" is considered the most reliable news source

#3   -  passive aggressive bumper stickers suggest a need for a more evolved platform of expression

#2   -  a town accustomed to people in tight bike shorts isn't generally concerned with warnings of graphic content

#1   -  until recently, "wireless" meant that all local communication was done via drum circles

A growing festival like the Boulder Fringe cannot (unfortunately) support itself on inspiration alone.  However, you can lend your support by becoming a member. If you or someone you know is able, and have enjoyed what the Fringe Festival brings to this community, please consider signing up for a membership package. Your donation will go a long way in helping this festival become the epic annual event it's destined to become. There are 5 levels of membership ranging from the $35 donation level, to the "Revolutionary" membership of $5000. Each additional level includes additional fringe benefits, and every donation is a terrific help.  For more information

Have you put in your 2 cents to Prose From the Shows? All it takes is 3 to 5 words (not necessarily in a sentence), which most colorfully describe your experience at the Boulder Fringe Festival this summer. The collaboration will be combined into one medley and posted in the final newsletter.  As always, wacky is welcome. Email your 3-5 word collage to:
jodfield@comcast.net, or drop into the box at the Laughing Goat box office by Saturday night at 11:00pm.
