Fringe Staff Application
BOULDER INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL IS HIRING SEASONAL AND YEAR ROUND STAFF
Dedicated staff who love performance and art, who understand that independent art and performance are very essential for the whole community. The Fringe is a new concept dedicated to providing a platform for artistic expression in the world and finding people who can support this vision with interest and integrity is the highest priority.
Currently we’re looking for a variety of year round and seasonal staff positions for our 2010 Festival Season – time commitments vary based on the particular venue and job. Staff members from previous years are encouraged to re-apply for each new season.
Venue Site Managers (August 15-29, 2010) must have experience in managing people and be very organized. Familiarity with Micrsoft Excel, Word and the ability to work online. Front of house skills (Box Office, House Management and Working with the Public), theater and technical skills a plus. Hiring Phase: May-June 2010
Technical Managers (August 15-29, 2010) must have experience in managing people and be very organized. Familiarity with Micrsoft Excel, Word and the ability to work online. Technical proficiency with Lighting, Sound, Staging and Video, Design experience helpful but not required. Hiring Phase: May-June 2010
Director of Development (Year round – executive staff): The fringe is also looking for a Director of Development to provide leadership, management, and coordination for all fundraising efforts, with a specific focus on implementing and executing fundraising campaigns, asks, donations, sponsorships, and creative fundraising strategies. In addition, the Director of Development will integrate a creative marketing plan to attract diverse revenue streams to the Festival. Hiring Phase: Until position is filled.
Workshop Coordinator (Year round with peak season from April-September, 2010): We are seeking an energetic and experienced coordinator who is comfortable organizing and working with people. Experience with Artistic workshop development and faculty contracts – Must have a degree in arts related field and experience with curriculum development. Must be available to work during workshop related events (Monthly and during the annual festival – August 18-29th, 2010). Hiring Phase: Until position is filled.
Volunteer Coordinator (Year round with peak season from April-September, 2010): We are seeking an energetic and experienced coordinator who is comfortable organizing and working with people. Experience with communications, organization and scheduling of a large volunteer workforce. Familiarity with Human resources development and managing. Must be available to work during the festival in addition to coordinating and hosting trainings leading up to the event– August 18-29th, 2010. Hiring Phase: Until position is filled.
Technical Director (Year round production meetings with peak season from April-September, 2010): We are currently seeking a technical director with expertise in: Audio and Video Production, Lighting and Stage Design and Theater Management. Dance/Theater/Music Technical Equipment background. Supervisory Experience with Technical Crews. Ability to translate the visual and aural requirements of performers into an acceptable performance reality with limited resources. Production design experience with an emphasis on scheduling and communication. Must be very comfortable working on a computer, cordial on the telephone, and willing to assist in venue management and festival development. Hiring Phase: Until position is filled.
Ad Sales reps: We are seeking experienced and successful advertising sales representatives to solicit print, web and on-location advertisements from companies in and around the Boulder region. Hiring Phase: Ongoing
Sponsorship Reps: The Fringe has a variety of sponsorship packages available for corporations to advertise and have a wide presence on the festival – we are seeking Sponsorship reps who are familiar with sponsorship development, tracking, solicitation and follow-up. Must be familiar with corporate sponsorship sales in the context of large community events. Hiring Phase: Ongoing
New Board members: The Boulder International Fringe Festival, Inc is also looking to fill a board member position. Must have a excellent sense of business development and experience with a 501c3 tax exempt organization in addition to an ability to participate in development fundraisers, quarterly meetings and a variety of social events throughout the year. Familiarity with the North American Fringe model is preferable. Hiring Phase: Ongoing
Special Events Producers: In addition to the Fringe music, dance and theater shows during the August Festival, the Fringe Festival presents a variety of community events throughout the year. We are seeking experienced event producers who are familiar with fundraising, press materials, budgeting and event management. Applicants must be comfortable managing people and show an ability to balance a budget. Typical events throughout the year include, Opening/Closing night parties, Fringe Film events, KidsFringe, Late Night Talk Shows, Poetry Nights, Sponsorship and Donor parties, Public Lottery, Fundraising concerts and more! Hiring Phase: Ongoing
